Northern Maria

Northern Maria joined the Northern Survey Fleet on the 10th of May 2021. She is built as a ULSTEIN P 106 Supply vessel, delivered in 2003 as Far Splendour. With no time to waist, we were eager to realize all the visions, we had for her – upon her arrival in Denmark, she was immediately taken under loving care, at the Shipyard in Thyborøn, where a lot of man hours was put in to make Northern Maria a fully versatile Survey Vessel. Finally on the end of March 2022, Northern Maria was ready to get out and show all her new features and her fantastic ability to perform. It took almost a year to complete the major conversion of the 74 meter vessel, but the result was absolutely worth waiting for! One of the most defining changes we made, is the new accommodation module, which enables us to offer 43 people a stay onboard. Some of the upgrades to be mentioned is the new NAVIS DP2 system, the 30-ton A-Frame, 370 TM offshore crane the Kongsberg HiPAP 502, 2moon tubes and a completely refurbished mess room to fit the hungry crowd. We are all very excited about all the great accomplishments, we will get to experience with this fantastic vessel and not a day goes by, when we are not grateful that Northern Maria became part of the Northern Survey fleet.

Northern Franklin

The Northern Franklin was built in 1984 as an oceanographic research vessel for Australia’s CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) and served in Australia waters and in blue water research until 2002. When the ship was put up for sale, a group of private investors bought it for the purpose of converting it into a private yacht and sailed Northern Franklin from Hobart, Tasmania to Sweden and then to a shipyard in Latvia. Luckily, MMT found the ship before any changes were made. MMT bought Northern Franklin in April 2005, and a technical refit of the ship’s systems was started as well as the installation of various survey systems. MMT operated the Northern Franklin under its own management until 2018, when a long-term agreement was entered into with Northern Survey.

Northern Karoline

The Northern Karoline is Northern Survey’s first ship and was originally built as a whaler in a shipyard in Glasgow, Scotland. Northern Karoline served as a whaler in the Antarctic until this whaling was largely banned in the 1960s. The ship then served as a cargo ship transporting quarry stone, from Norway to the Danish ports. In the 1980s, the Northern Karoline was converted into a standby rescue vessel for the offshore sector. In 2009, Northern Survey bought the ship from Møkster shipping. In 2020, the Northern Karoline underwent an extensive refit, including a completely new accommodation and a class renewal. - Despite her years she is a dependable and much sought after lady, who always leaves the customers satisfied after every job!
