Northern Maria became part of the Northern Survey fleet on May 10, 2021.
She was built as an ULSTEIN P 106 Supply vessel, delivered in 2003 as Far Splendour.
Without wasting any time, we were eager to realize all the visions we had for her! – When she arrived in Denmark, she was immediately taken under loving care at the Shipyard in Thyborøn, where many man-hours were invested in making Northern Maria a fantastic and versatile Survey Ship.
Finally, at the end of March 2022, Northern Maria was ready to showcase all her upgrades and her amazing ability to perform. It took almost a year to complete the major refurbishment of the 74-meter vessel, but the result was absolutely worth the wait!
One of the most defining changes we have made is the new accommodation module, which allows us to offer accommodations for 43 people on board.
Some of the upgrades that should be mentioned include the new NAVIS DP2 system, a 30-ton A-Frame, a 370 TM Offshore crane, Kongsberg HiPAP 502, 2 moon tubes, and a completely renovated mess room that forms the setting for the many meals enjoyed on board.
We look forward with anticipation to all the great tasks we will undertake with this fantastic vessel - and not a day goes by where we are not grateful that Northern Maria became part of the Northern Survey fleet.
Northern Victoria joined the Northern Survey fleet in February 2024.
The ship was built by Balenciaga in Spain, and this IMT 975 Offshore Supply / Survey / ROV Support vessel was originally delivered in 2003 as Grampian Surveyor.
After a hull inspection survey, change of ownership, and the annual class survey, Northern Victoria was ready for its first offshore job for Northern Survey in early March 2024.
The ship's dimensions are 75 meters in length and 16 meters in breadth (molded). It has a main deck and a mezzanine deck, totaling 650 m².
Northern Victoria offers comfortable accommodation with 21 single cabins and 14 double cabins, with a total capacity for 49 people onboard. The ship's facilities are designed to ensure a productive working environment, complemented by ample living and recreational spaces.
Crew members and customers can enjoy a spacious mess room, which is perfect for communal dining. For professional needs, the ship includes two ship offices, two client offices, and two survey rooms, providing ample space for administrative and project-related activities.
For leisure and relaxation, Northern Victoria has two TV lounges, a fitness room, and a sauna for unwinding after a long day. These facilities together create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere on board, making Northern Victoria a ship that enables the balance of work and leisure for those on board.
Northern Victoria is a highly advanced vessel, equipped with the latest technology to support a wide range of offshore operations. Key features include the NAVIS DP2 system, ensuring precise dynamic positioning. The ship is equipped with a powerful 20-ton TTS Norlift crane with a 2000-meter wire, enabling heavy lifting and deep-water operations. Additionally, the deck winches have a capacity of 5 tons each, enhancing the vessel's handling and operational efficiency.
For underwater and survey tasks, Northern Victoria is equipped with the Kongsberg HIPAP 500 L-USBL system, providing accurate underwater positioning and communication.
The vessel also has two moon pools, measuring 1200 x 1200 mm and 3580 x 3580 mm, enabling the safe and efficient deployment and recovery of ROVs and other underwater equipment.
These advanced features make Northern Victoria an invaluable asset to the Northern Survey fleet, capable of performing a wide range of offshore supply, survey, diving, and ROV support operations with exceptional efficiency and precision.

Northern Franklin was built in 1984 as an oceanographic research vessel for Australia's national science agency, CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization), and was active around Australia conducting Blue Water research until 2002. When the ship was put up for sale, a group of private investors purchased her with the intention of converting her into a private yacht. They sailed Northern Franklin from Hobart, Tasmania to Sweden, and then to a shipyard in Latvia. MMT found her before any modifications were made. In April 2005, MMT bought Northern Franklin, and a technical upgrade of the ship's systems began, along with the installation of various survey systems. MMT operated Northern Franklin under its own management until 2018, when a long-term agreement was made with Northern Survey.
Northern Karoline is Northern Survey's first ship, originally built as a whaling vessel at a shipyard in Glasgow, Scotland. Northern Karoline operated as a whaler in the Antarctic until whaling was banned in the 1960s. Thereafter, the ship served as a cargo vessel, transporting tons of stones from Norway to Danish ports. In the 1980s, Northern Karoline was converted into a standby rescue vessel for the offshore sector. Northern Survey purchased the ship from Møkster Shipping in 2009. In 2020, Northern Karoline underwent a comprehensive upgrade, including a complete refit and class renewal. She is a reliable and in-demand vessel, leaving satisfied customers after every job!
